Hi, I’m Kimberleigh! (she/her)

Everyone has the ability to create positive change in their own lives. I believe therapy’s role is to support individuals, couples, and families in expanding their understanding of self, others, and the world, so they can experience their life from a growing, grounded, good enough path.

As an AuDHD-er myself, I don’t think therapy should be a one-size-fits-all approach. Working with me means working together to understand your neurotype, your experiences, and your story. Together, we will look at how these elements make up your sense of self and relationship to others. We will explore your journey and how you have gotten to where you are now. By naming systems of oppression and privilege, deconstructing norms that don’t fit, centering the wisdom of your lived experience and intuition, and aligning with your values, therapy can support your in finding your preferred path forward.

Areas of Focus: Neurodivergence, Mixed-Neurotype Couples, Relationally Expansive Couples, LGBTQ+ Identities, Trauma, CPTSD, Life Transitions, Grief and Loss, Identity, Teens, Young Adults.

In-Person Sessions

What you might think of when you think therapy… a comfortable space, perhaps a weighted blanket, a snack, and a safe, confidential space to settle in.

Nature-Based Sessions

Expanding what therapy can look like… walk-and-talk or settle in with park-based sessions, where nature is the co-therapist. Ground in and reconnect to the outdoors.

Brainspotting

A gentle, somatic approach to trauma. Adapted from EMDR, focused mindfulness expands what is possible for healing.

What to expect working with me…

at my office:

I strive to make the therapeutic space as comfortable and sensory friendly as possible. My office space provides a variety of comfortable seating options, lighting options (no thanks fluorescents!), weighted blankets, stuffed animals, plants, games, puzzles, fidgets, and art supplies. Complimentary tea, water, and snacks are also available.

at the park:

We will find a comfortable and private space together in the park, which may involved some walking. If preferred, we can have a “walk-and-talk” session. Park sessions take place rain or shine. I will text you 2 hours prior to the session if weather conditions are too extreme for nature-based sessions (i.e. air quality, icy roads). I will provide sit pads and other clinical tools as needed.

What to bring to nature-based sessions:

  • water

  • sun protection

  • layers for various weather conditions

  • comfortable walking shoes

  • optional: snacks, a journal, fidgets, other small comfort items

Accessibility Note: Nature-based sessions may require walking up to a mile, and sitting on the ground.

with Brainspotting:

During a Brainspotting session, I will help you you focus on a specific emotional issue or memory. Using a pointer, I guide your eyes to a “brainspot”, a specific point in your field of vision that activates a deep emotional or somatic response. As you hold your gaze on that spot, your brain starts processing stored emotions, memories, and even subconscious trauma. Allow and observe your experiences without judgment or trying to control them. You may experience distress or other uncomfortable physical sensations. I will guide and support you as you allow the processing. Anything is welcome here. Movement, closing your eyes, shifting your gaze, and verbalizations are normal and welcome during processing. Brainspotting may take place from 10-45 minutes.

During Brainspotting, some people experience:

  • Physical Sensations: warmth, tingling, tension, or a sense of heaviness in the body

  • Emotional Release: sadness, relief, tears, a deep sense of peace or clarity

  • Memories Resurfacing: unexpected memories or emotions may come to the surface

  • Body Relaxation: many people report feeling a release of tension

  • Quiet Mind: unlike talk therapy, where you’re actively thinking and analyzing, Brainspotting helps shift from the thinking parts of the brain, into subcortical the subcortical brain.

Processing will continue to take place after the session, and some people experience an immediate improvement followed by dip in emotional or psychological affect.
